Responsibilities:
- Load and unload cargo from ships using various equipment and machinery - Operate cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery to move cargo - Secure cargo using ropes, chains, or other securing devices - Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment - Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
Experience:
- Previous experience as a stevedore or in a similar role is preferred - Knowledge of rigging techniques and equipment - Strong customer service skills to interact with ship crews and other personnel - Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain equipment - Hospitality skills to provide assistance and support to ship crews Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
