Overview:
Responsible for and takes part in all operational activities at the facility. This includes supervision of barge unloading staff, control room staff and elevator staff. This role is actively involved in and responsible for achieving facility production goals and monitoring all facility safety and environmental parameters to enable the plant to operate maximum capacity, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. Provide support to Operations Mgr to ensure that daily operations are in compliance with regulatory and company requirements and ensure that the plant operates efficiently and safely.

Essential Functions:
Provide leadership and direction in assigned section
Evaluate performance of staff and provide coaching and counseling as needed to achieve desired performance
Monitor the status of training for personnel under his supervision and ensure that training needs are being met
Facilitate communication between the Operations, Maintenance and EHS teams to ensure efficient use of resources
Monitors and controls facility operations
Assumes responsibility for shift employees to ensure that all tasks are completed safely and correctly
Continuously reviews the operation of the facility to monitor production, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement
Participates in projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs
Maintains accurate records of key production indicators
Ensure that plant operations are carried out in accordance with plant operating procedures and polices
Coordinate regular cleaning and maintenance work to ensure a safe and productive environment including participating in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness
Assists with diagnosing and troubleshooting maintenance related issues
Routinely monitoring the plant processes and report findings to the Operations Manager
Participates in facility safety, health, and environmental programs
Ensures that all incident reports are completed and transmitted
